Inspired by petroglyphs from the Cochiti Lake, NM area, this necklace features a unique stoneware clay focal crafted by a New Mexico pottery artist specifically for Elksong Jewelry. The earthy, durable clay piece is inscribed into the stoneware clay, colored with an mineral glaze & high-fired. Set up on an oxidized sterling coil bail, the focal hangs on a strung bead necklace of rich, reddish orange spiny oyster shell rondelles, nuggets of water blue, vintage Morenci (AZ) turquoise, rounds & heishi of earth colored picture jasper, tiny rondelles of green-blue turquoise, sterling silver bench beads, sterling-over-copper Bali style beads, silver heishi & copper twist beads.
The necklace measures 19.5" (49.53 cm) in total length, including it's handmade, stamped & oxidized sterling toggle clasp. The focal measures 2.25" (5.71 cm) in length, including the bail, and 1.25" (3.17 cm) in width.
