A golden Sun Lotus is the focal of this one of a kind, nature inspired necklace. The focal starts with a large, oval-ish cabochon of heat treated amber...heat treating improves color & clarity and creates "sun sparks" within the amber. A four-petaled lotus flower, formed with copper wire lays over the cabochon & is secured to a border of intricate copper wire wrapping. At the center, there's a single, twinkling Swarovski crystal of opaque turquoise.
The focal is suspended between beautifully detailed, verdigris copper finish butterflies & a rough teardrop of natural turquoise bound in copper wire wrap & studded with tiny, light amber cut glass seed beads hangs below.
The necklace is created with copper wire wrap links, set with a mix of beads...natural Baltic amber pebbles, heat treated amber nuggets, U.S mined, rice shaped turquoise beads, calsilica rounds & African (turquoise) jasper. Brass heishi, copper granulation spacers & beads and ornate caps of antiqued copper add more delicious detail.
Finally, the necklace closes with a handmade, oxidized copper wire wrap hook & eye clasp.
This rich, bohemian necklace measures about 18.25" (46.35 cm) in total length, including the clasp. The focal measures about 2 & 3/8" (6.01 cm) in total length, including the turquoise drop.
