In deep, mysterious colors, this lampwork glass sculpture & wire wrap necklace represents the Titaness & Greek goddess Asteria. She was a member of the last generations of Titans, who pre-dated the Olympian Greek gods & goddesses such as Zeus, Apollo & Athena. Daughter of Coeus & Phoebe, she was herself the mother of Hecate, the triple-formed goddess of night, magic & sorcery. Asteria herself held dominion over falling stars & midnight divinations.
This dark, mysterious & elegant necklace starts with the lampwork glass goddess, created in the Elksong Jewelry studio, set with an elaborate, oxidized copper wire wrap bail that resembles unfurling wings. She is hung from a necklace created with tear drops of matte red jasper & twinkling midnight blue faceted goldstone beads. The colors perfectly echo the colors of the glass sculpture.
The beads are set on oxidized copper wire wrap links & embellished with silver Kenyan heishi & antiqued copper caps.
The necklace meausures 18.25" (46.35 cm) in total length, including the handmade, oxidized copper wire wrap hook & eye clasp. The goddess focal herself is 1.5" (3.81 cm) in height. NOTE: The design of this piece is such that the focal displays best higher on the chest, as versus low on the breastbone. But, please contact us, if you'd like length added for a better fit & we can adjust the pricing.
