Jade Warrior, a truly unique & earthy gemstone & copper necklace that would be suitable for men or women. The focal on this piece is a hand carved, jadeite "head bead", created in the Elksong Jewelry studio. The stone is a rich, deep green in color, with an amber translucence on one side of the face. It's bound in an intricate oxidized copper wire wrapping that suggests an elaborate crown, or helmet. The carving itself is influenced by pre-Columbian Aztec & Mayan art.
The focal is set on a strung bead style necklace that is created with flat ovals of moon-green, luminous prehnite, rounds of jade & fossilized coral, Kenyan copper heishi & ornate, solid copper cylinder beads. It closes with a hand made, oxidized copper toggle clasp.
This necklace measures 19.5" (49.53 cm) in total length, including the toggle clasp. The focal measures 1.75" (4.44 cm) in length, including it's bail, by about .75" (1.90 cm) at it's widest point.
