Fun & showy, these gypsy gold chandelier earrings feature vintage golden brass Kuchi charms & a trio of antiqued brass chain drops. In the drops are amber & gold-flecked yellow glass teardrops, bound in oxidized copper wire wrap, vintage Czech glass beads, glass seed beads in shades of yellow & faceted brass beads. Above the round brass charms, tiny sparkling crystal rondelles the color of fine topaz attach the chains to brass twist rings.
The Kuchi people (actually the Pashtun tribe, "Kuchi" is a Dari word for nomad), are the dominant tribe in Afghanistan, and though most of them are settled now, once upon a time they were almost all nomads, among them the Afghan royal family. Kuchi jewelry & clothing is some of the most recognized when people think of "gypsy" or "bohemian" styles.
These unique earrings measure just under 3" (7.62 cm) in total length, including their hand formed 14kt gold filled ear wires.
