Elegant & graceful, these stitched seed bead earrings are full of lush turquoise color, with jade cabochons & turquoise gemstone beads. The translucent green jade oval cabs are surrounded by tiny, stitched glass seed beads that continue the oval shape. The seed beads are 13/0 Charlotte cuts, first used in 1847 in the French garment industry. These beads have a distinctive single cut, or facet on each one, giving them a subtle, more shimmery sparkle. These are also vintage beads, purchased some 30 years ago.
The jade cabochons are paired with rounds of genuine turquoise gemstone & at the bottoms, unusual glass "lentil" drops hang from rustic, picasso finish glass beads with oxidized sterling wire wrap. These lentil drops are the last two I have; they always make me think of islands in the Caribbean, seen from high above. The earrings are even backed with turquoise colored kid leather.
These unique earrings measure about 2 & 1/8" (5.38 cm) in total length, from the post of their sterling ball ear posts. The seed bead ovals measure just over 5/8" (1.57 cm) at their widest point.
